Waitlist only. Last updated 3 August 2026.

This page covers the Carma waitlist: what happens if you put your email address into the form on the home page. It is short because we collect very little. When the app launches there will be a fuller notice covering accounts and vehicle data.

Who is responsible

Best Friend Ltd (trading as Carma) is the data controller for the waitlist. You can reach us at carma.app.support@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What we collect

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which posts and channels bring people in. It is privacy-first: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no profile of you — just aggregate counts (page, referrer, rough country, device type) derived from a daily-rotating hash that cannot be tied back to you or followed from one day to the next. Beyond that there are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels.

Why, and on what basis

We use your address for one purpose: to email you about Carma launching, plus the occasional short update before then. That is it. No newsletters you did not ask for, and we will never sell or rent the list.

Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until twelve months after launch if you never open anything, whichever is sooner. If the app never ships, we delete the list and tell you we have.

Who else can see it

The list is stored on Convex, our backend provider, who host it on our behalf and do not use it for anything of their own. This site itself is hosted on Vercel, who also provide the privacy-first analytics described above. If we later use an email delivery service to send the launch email, it will be named here before your address reaches it. Nobody else has access.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or hand it back in a portable format, and you can object to how we use it. There is no charge and we will respond within one month.

To get off the list: click the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or write to carma.app.support@gmail.com and say so. No reason needed, no confirmation loop, and we do not email you again to ask if you are sure.

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will say so in an email rather than quietly editing the page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
